About

S an Francisco is a unique visual city with a wonderful small town feel nestled in a large metropolis. The visual combinations of the different architectural styles such as the old wooden buildings juxtapose to the modern steel skyscrapers is an awe-inspiring image. Beyond San Francisco’s known tourist paths, lies neighborhoods that have their own eclectic mixture of the sublime with the immaculate. Those contrasting images offer a rich visual portrait of a world filled with love and expressions. The beautifully kept 19th century Victorians, the incredible neighborhood parks, the wondrously lit alley, the great murals, the abundance of color, the delicious coffee shops, the unique gardens and the highly detailed retail shops are just a few of  the pictorial images presented to inspire all photographer.

A Message
I (Diane Vallecillo), created the Walking Photo Tour with two goals in mind; to share my love of photography and my enthusiasm for my city, San Francisco.

I am an artist at heart and photography is one of my artistes. The main reason I love photography so much is because the lens of a camera acts as the eye of the beholder, letting people see the world the way the photographers sees it.  The photographed picture is then frozen in time and a small artistic portrait of the world is seen exactly the way the photographer viewed it. Even if two people photograph the same image at the same time, no two photographs come out identical since each person perceives the world in different ways. The photographer imparts their own personal world perspective. I love teaching people the five basic rules that photographers use because I then get to see the world through someone else’s eyes.

The best way to see San Francisco is by walking it with a native born San Franciscan.  I was born and raised in San Francisco and I can show visitors the most intimate, the most unique and the most beautiful sites that San Francisco has to offer. Many of the areas that host San Francisco’s most famous tourist attractions also host our best, most breath-taking photogenic locations just blocks away if you know where to look. Each walking tour is designed to show you the famous tourist areas but also give you an intimate tour of unique areas of San Francisco. I am always excited to teach photography during every tour and look forward to seeing San Francisco through your eyes.  You will love my City and my tour.
